Flick Games
About Flick Games
Flick games are played with one gesture: pull back and let go, or swipe across the screen, and whatever you aimed flies. The length of the pull or the speed of the swipe is the power, its direction is the aim, and in the best of them a curve in the swipe puts bend or spin on the shot. It is the most natural way to shoot on a touch screen, which is why flick games are some of the most played games on phones, and it works just as well with a mouse: press, drag and release.
Three of ours are played on a table. Corner Pocket is 8-ball pool, where you pull the power bar down to cue; Carrom Club is carrom, where you pull back from the striker like a slingshot to pocket your pieces and cover the queen; and Table Kick is flick football with flat discs, five a side, where you pull back from a disc to knock the ball past the keeper. Clifftop Putt is eighteen holes of mini golf putted the same way. The swipe games are out on the field: in Top Corner you swipe from the ball to the spot in the goal and curve the swipe to bend free kicks round the wall, in Swish Shot you flick a basketball up at the hoop, and in Strike Lane you flick a bowling ball up the lane and curl the end of the flick to hook it into the pocket.
Every flick game here is free in your browser with no download, on a phone, a tablet or a computer. The pull-back games draw a guide line or an arrow as you pull; the swipe games read the gesture itself, so the aim is all in your thumb. For more games of angles, see the aim games; for the games sport by sport, the pool games, carrom games, soccer games, basketball games, bowling games and golf games.
Frequently asked questions
What are flick games?
Games where you shoot with a single gesture: pull back from the ball or the piece and let go, like a slingshot, or swipe toward the target. The direction is the aim and the length of the pull, or the speed of the swipe, is the power.
Do flick games work with a mouse?
Yes. Press, drag and release with the mouse exactly as you would with a finger. In Swish Shot, drag up quickly and let go while the mouse is still moving, because a slow drag does not shoot.
How do I put spin or bend on a shot?
It depends on the game. In Top Corner you curve the swipe to bend the ball, in Strike Lane you curl the end of the flick to hook the ball, and in Corner Pocket you set follow, draw or side spin on the spin ball before you shoot.
Can I cancel a pull-back shot?
In Table Kick, pull back to where you started and let go to cancel; in Carrom Club, let go close to the striker. The other games shoot when you let go, so line it up before you release.
