How to play Table Kick

  1. Press one of your yellow discs (or just beside it) and drag back, away from where you want it to go.

  2. Watch the arrow: it points where the disc will shoot, and it grows and turns red as the pull gets stronger.

  3. Let go to shoot. Hit the ball through its centre to send it straight, or on its side to cut it at an angle.

  4. Shoot before the 7-second shot clock runs out, then watch the CPU team take its turn.

  5. Win the match (first to two goals, or ahead after three minutes) to face the next, stronger team. Lose a match and the cup run is over.

Tips

  1. Read the ball like pool: imagine the spot just behind the ball on the line to the goal, and send your disc through that spot. The thinner the cut, the less power reaches the ball.

  2. Use the cushions. A ball banked off the side cushion often goes round a defender that blocks the straight line, and it loses only a little speed on the way.

  3. Do not leave the CPU an open shot. When you cannot score, push one of your discs into the line between the ball and your goal, or clear the ball toward a wing.

  4. Win well when you can: every win pays 1,000 points per goal of the winning margin, so a 2–0 is worth more than a 2–1. Keeping the CPU out of your box counts as much as scoring.

  5. Soft shots are precise. Near the goal, a gentle pull that just reaches the ball is easier to place than a full-power blast that rebounds off the frame.

  6. A disc stuck by the cushion still has a full-power shot: pull back to the edge of the table and the arrow turns red, even though the pull is shorter.

About Table Kick

Table Kick is a free flick football game you play right in your browser: tabletop soccer with flat discs, five a side, on a wooden board with a striped felt pitch. Each of your yellow discs is a player. On your turn you pull back from one of them like a slingshot, an arrow shows where it will go and how hard, and when you let go the disc slides across the table, knocks the ball, the other discs and the cushions about, and with the right angle sends the ball into the net. If you have ever played finger soccer, button football or disc football on a table, you will feel at home within a shot or two. There is nothing to download or install.

Matches are turn-based against a CPU team that plays exactly like you do: it looks at the table, picks a disc, pulls back and shoots, and you can watch its arrow grow before it lets go. Every turn is a small geometry problem. Strike the ball dead centre and it flies straight; catch it on the side and it cuts away at an angle, just like pool. Bank it off the side cushion around a defender, nudge your own disc into the CPU's shooting line, or clear the ball out of your box when it gets dangerous. A 7-second shot clock keeps every turn snappy, and the physics is the same for both teams: discs bounce off each other, the ball is lighter and livelier than the discs, and everything slows on the felt until it stops.

The main mode is the Cup Ladder. Each match is first to two goals or three minutes on the clock, and if it is level at full time the next goal wins. Beat a team and a stronger one comes on: ten opponents with their own colours and badges, from Puddle Town to the Royal Comets, each one aiming straighter, judging power better and learning to block your shots and bank the ball off the cushions. Lose a match and the run is over. Each goal you score yourself is worth 1,000 points, and every win adds a bonus that grows with the round and the winning margin, so going deep in the cup is what climbs the all-time and weekly leaderboards. A two-minute Shootout, every shot yours against a defending wall that grows with each goal, is one of the games The Daily can deal you.

Table Kick works the same on a phone and on a computer. On a phone, put your thumb on (or near) one of your discs, pull back and let go; on a desktop, drag with the mouse. The longer the pull, the harder the shot, and pulling back to where you started cancels. P pauses the game on a keyboard. On a wide screen the table fills the left of the screen with the scoreboard beside it. Every ranked score is replayed and checked on our servers before it counts, so the leaderboards show real goals only.

Table Kick is one of our sports games and aim games, with a verified board among our competitive games. It plays well as one of the mobile games on your phone and as one of the PC games with a mouse, and like everything here it is among our free online games with no download. If you like a bouncing ball and a clean angle, try our physics games too.

Table Kick FAQ

  • How long does a game of Table Kick last?

A Cup Ladder match takes one to four minutes, and the run lasts until you lose a match, so a good run can go on for twenty minutes or more.

  • How is the score calculated?

Every goal you score with your own shot is 1,000 points (a CPU own goal counts on the scoreboard but not in your points), and each win adds 3,000 plus 1,000 for its round plus 1,000 per goal of the winning margin.

  • Can I play Table Kick on my phone?

Yes. Table Kick is made for both phones and computers: on a phone you pull back from your discs with your thumb, on a computer you drag with the mouse. It runs in the browser, so there is no app to install.

  • What happens when the match is level at full time?

In the Cup Ladder a match level after three minutes goes to golden goal: play continues and the next goal wins the match, for either side.

  • Does the CPU cheat?

No. The CPU team uses the same physics and the same shot clock as you, and it picks its shots from what is on the table. Early teams aim loosely and pick weaker shots; later teams aim straighter, block your lines and bank the ball off the cushions.
