About Pool Games
Pool is the cue sport you find in pubs, bars and games rooms all over the world: a table with six pockets, a white cue ball and fifteen numbered balls. The best-loved game on it is 8-ball pool. One player takes the solids, numbered 1 to 7, the other the stripes, 9 to 15, and the first to clear their group and then sink the black 8 wins the frame. Pool games bring that table to a screen and keep what makes the real thing satisfying: reading the angle, judging the pace and leaving the cue ball where your next shot is easy.
Corner Pocket is our 8-ball pool game, on a table that stands upright like the phone in your hand. Drag on the felt to swing the cue round the cue ball, follow the guide line to the ghost ball, then pull the power bar down and let go; the spin ball adds follow, draw or side spin. It plays the classic pub rules: you break, the first ball potted after the break decides your group, a foul gives your opponent the cue ball in hand, and potting the 8 too early loses the frame. The main mode is a tournament ladder against CPU opponents, from Rookie Rae, who misses plenty, to sharper players who aim straighter and stop scratching, and one lost frame ends the run. A Speed Pool round plays in the Daily: pot as many balls as you can in under two minutes, with the 8 last.
Pool games on Gamefinity are free in your browser with no download, on a phone or a computer: drag with a finger or the mouse, or turn the cue with the arrow keys and hold Space to shoot. For the same pull-back-and-release feel on other tables, try the flick games and the carrom games, where you flick a striker instead of cueing a ball. If lining up angles is what you enjoy, the aim games and sports games have more.
Frequently asked questions
What are the rules of 8-ball pool?
You break, and the first ball potted after the break gives you solids (1 to 7) or stripes (9 to 15). Pot one of your own and you shoot again; miss and it is your opponent's turn. Clear your group, then sink the black 8 to win the frame. In Corner Pocket, scratching, hitting nothing or hitting the wrong ball first is a foul that gives the opponent the cue ball in hand, and potting the 8 early loses the frame.
How do you aim in Corner Pocket?
Drag anywhere on the table to turn the cue round the cue ball, or tap a ball to aim straight at it. The ghost ball shows where the cue ball will hit, and short lines show where the object ball and the cue ball go next. The fine-tune wheel beside the table turns the cue a tiny amount.
What is the difference between pool and snooker?
Snooker is played on a bigger table with smaller pockets, fifteen reds and six colours worth different points. Pool uses a smaller table, bigger pockets and balls numbered 1 to 15. Corner Pocket plays 8-ball pool.
Can I play pool on my phone?
Yes. Corner Pocket's table stands upright to fill a phone held in portrait, with the power bar and the fine-tune wheel beside it. On a computer it plays with the mouse or the keyboard.
