How to play Top Corner

  1. Put your finger (or the mouse) on the ball and swipe toward the goal: where the swipe ends is where the ball goes.

  2. Swipe faster for a harder shot, slower for a looping one; a swipe that is too hard sends the ball over the bar.

  3. Curve your swipe to bend the ball: bow it out to one side and the ball sets off that way and curls back to your aim.

  4. Get the ball over or round the jumping wall and past the diving keeper; hit the targets in the goal for bonus points.

  5. Score goals in a row to build your streak multiplier. A miss or a save costs one of your three lives, and the run ends when the last one is gone.

Tips

  1. Against a wall, either bend it round the outside of the wall into the near corner, or swipe a little slower so the ball floats over the jumping wall and dips under the bar.

  2. The keeper starts on the side the wall does not cover and reads straight shots well. A curled shot that sets off away from him and comes back fools him, especially in the first rounds.

  3. Pace beats keepers but a swipe that is too fast lifts the ball over its aim. If your shots fly over, aim a little lower or swipe a touch slower.

  4. Watch the ball's shadow: it tells you how high the ball is, so you can learn which swipe speed clears the wall and still drops under the bar.

  5. Targets are worth more than they look, because a target hit also adds to your streak. A corner target in a run of goals can be worth several hundred points more than a plain goal.

  6. The gold target slides across the goal. Swipe when it is heading toward the side the keeper is not covering, aiming a little ahead of it.

About Top Corner

Top Corner is a free free kick game and penalty kick game you can play online, right in your browser. The camera sits behind the ball, looking down the pitch at the goal, a goalkeeper on his line and, for free kicks, a defensive wall nine metres away. Swipe from the ball to the spot in the goal where you want it to go and let go: the ball flies along your swipe. It is a classic soccer game of the flick-to-shoot kind, built for a thumb on a phone and just as playable with a mouse on a computer.

Everything you need is in the swipe. Where it ends is your aim, measured as if you started on the ball, so a swipe that ends on the top corner sends the ball to the top corner. How fast you swipe is the power: a slow swipe floats a looping shot over the wall, a quick one drives it in, and a swipe that is too hard rises over the bar. The curve of your swipe is the bend: bow it to the right and the ball sets off right and curls back, which is how you get round the wall and past a keeper who has already moved. Every shot casts a shadow on the grass, so you can always read how high the ball is and where it will land.

Each kick has two targets painted in the goal. A goal scores 100 points; a ball through a corner target adds 300, a side target 150, and from the second round of kicks a gold target slides across the goal for 500. Goals in a row build a streak multiplier from ×1 up to ×3, and hitting a target pushes the streak up faster, so a run of corner targets snowballs. A miss, a save, the post, a block by the wall or a ball over the bar resets the streak.

You play Endless: three lives, no clock, and every five kicks the challenge steps up. Free kicks move further back, walls get an extra man and jump higher, targets shrink and start to move, and the keeper reacts sooner, dives faster and reads your bend better. A first run usually lasts eight to ten kicks; a strong player curls in thirty or more. An 84-second shoot-out without lives is one of the games The Daily can deal you. Your best run goes on the all-time and weekly leaderboards, verified by replaying your swipes on our servers.

On a phone or tablet, put your thumb on the ball and swipe toward the goal; tap during a replay to skip to the next kick. On a computer, drag with the mouse in the same way, and press P to pause. If you like it, try our other sports games such as mini golf, the aim games that test the same precision, or the quick games and competitive games with their own leaderboards. Top Corner plays on mobile and on PC, and like everything on Gamefinity it is one of our free online games with no download, handy as one of the free games to play at work on a short break.

Top Corner FAQ

  • How long does a game of Top Corner last?

A run goes on until you lose three lives: a first run is usually a minute or two and eight to ten kicks, a strong one several minutes and thirty kicks or more. There is no clock: only lives end a run.

  • How is the score calculated?

A goal is worth 100 points, plus 300 for a corner target, 150 for a side target or 500 for the gold target, plus 50 when it goes in off the post. All of that is multiplied by your streak: goals in a row raise it in quarters from ×1 up to ×3, and target hits raise it faster.

  • How do I bend the ball?

Curve your swipe. A swipe that bows out to the right sends the ball off to the right first and curls it back to where your swipe ended; bow it to the left for the other way. The stronger the curve of the swipe, the bigger the bend, and a gentle arc of your thumb is already enough for a big one; the camera pulls back to follow a ball that curls out wide.

  • Why did my shot fly over the bar?

Either you aimed above the crossbar or you swiped too hard. Very fast swipes lift the ball above its aim, so for a top corner shot swipe quickly but not flat out.

  • Can I play Top Corner on my phone?

Yes. It is made for touch: swipe from the ball with your thumb. It also plays on a computer, where you drag with the mouse instead.

  • Does the keeper get better?

Yes. Every five kicks the keeper reacts sooner, dives faster and is fooled less by bend, free kicks move further back, walls grow and jump higher, and targets get smaller and start to move.
