How to play Corner Pocket
Drag anywhere on the table to turn the cue round the cue ball, or tap a ball or a point to aim straight at it.
Read the guide: the ghost ball shows where the cue ball will hit, the short line where the object ball will go.
Fine-tune the aim with the wheel beside the table (or the arrow keys), and set spin on the spin ball if you want it.
Pull the power bar down to draw the cue back and let go to shoot (or press on the cue ball and pull back).
Sink every ball of your group, solids or stripes (on your turn they wear a gold ring, and your card lists the ones left), then the 8 to win the frame and face a stronger opponent.

Tips
Before every shot, look where the short tangent line sends the cue ball: a straight-in pot with no spin can follow the object ball into the pocket.
Use back spin (the bottom of the spin ball) on short straight shots to stop or draw the cue ball and leave yourself the next pot.
Softer shots are more accurate: hit just hard enough to reach the pocket, especially on long cuts into the middle pockets.
With the cue ball in hand, put it a short distance behind your easiest ball on a straight line to its pocket.
Leave the 8 alone until your group is cleared: hitting it first is a foul and potting it early loses the frame.

About Corner Pocket
Corner Pocket is a free 8-ball pool game you can play online in your browser, on a phone or a computer, with no download. On a phone the table stands upright in your hand, and on a computer it lies across the whole screen: drag anywhere on the felt to swing the cue round the cue ball, follow the guide line to the ghost ball, then pull the power bar down and let go. The balls clack, bounce off the cushions and rattle into the six pockets with real billiards physics. It sits with our other sports games and aim games.
The rules are the classic eight-ball you know from the pub. You break every frame. The table stays open until the first ball is potted after the break, and that ball decides your group: solids (1 to 7) or stripes (9 to 15), with the CPU taking the other. Pot one of your own balls and you shoot again; miss and it is the opponent's turn. Pot the cue ball, hit nothing or touch the wrong ball first and it is a foul, and the other side gets the cue ball in hand to place anywhere. On your turn your own balls wear a gold ring, and each player's card shows their group and the numbered balls they still have to sink. Clear your group, then sink the black 8 in any pocket to win the frame. Pot the 8 early, or scratch on it, and you lose.
The main mode is a tournament ladder against computer opponents. Rookie Rae misses plenty, but every frame you win brings a sharper player who aims straighter, judges the pace better and stops scratching. Lose a frame and the run is over. Your score counts frames won (worth more higher up the ladder), every ball you pot, pots in a row in the same visit, a clean break, and a big bonus for a break and run that never gives the CPU a shot. Every ranked run is verified by replaying it, so the leaderboards of our competitive games are fair.
The guide line shows exactly where the cue ball meets the first ball, with a short line for the object ball's path and one for where the cue ball glances off, so the skill is in reading the angle, the pace and the leave. Use the spin ball for top spin to follow through, back spin to draw the cue ball back, or side spin to change its bounce off a cushion. A quick Speed Pool round also plays in the Daily: pot as many balls as you can in under two minutes, and remember that fouls cost time and the 8 goes last.
On a touch screen, drag on the table to aim, nudge the fine-tune wheel beside it for tiny turns, tap a ball to aim straight at it, and pull the power bar down to shoot. With a mouse it works the same way, and on a keyboard the arrow keys turn the cue while holding Space draws it back and releasing shoots; P pauses. It is a relaxed game of skill among our casual games for adults, and it plays on our mobile games and PC games pages alike.

Corner Pocket FAQ
How long does a game of Corner Pocket last?
A frame against the CPU usually takes two to four minutes. The ladder goes on frame after frame until you lose one, up to a 30-minute ceiling; the Speed Pool round in the Daily lasts under two minutes.
What are the 8-ball rules in Corner Pocket?
You break, the first ball potted after the break gives you solids or stripes, you keep shooting while you pot your own balls, and you win by sinking the 8 after your group. Scratching, hitting nothing or hitting the wrong ball first is a foul that gives the opponent ball in hand, and potting the 8 too early loses the frame.
How is the score calculated?
On the ladder each frame you win scores 3,000 points plus 500 for every level up the ladder, each of your balls scores 100 plus 50 for every ball you already potted in the same visit, the winning 8 adds 500, a clean break 300 and a break and run 2,000. In Speed Pool each ball scores 100 plus 25 for every potting shot in a row before it.
Does the CPU get harder?
Yes. Every frame you win brings a new opponent who aims straighter and judges the power better. The first ones miss a lot; the later ones rarely leave you a second chance.
Can I play Corner Pocket on my phone?
Yes. The table stands upright to fill a phone held in portrait, with the power bar and the fine-tune wheel beside it and the spin ball under your thumb. On a computer the table lies across the screen, with the power bar and the wheel at its ends and the scores in a slim row above it.
