How to play Cliff Flip
Watch the power arrow pulse beside your diver and tap when it will carry you between the buoys.
Keep holding after the take-off to tuck into a ball and spin fast; the flip counter shows the half turns as they happen.
Let go to stretch out and slow the spin, a moment before your body points straight up or straight down.
Hit the water head first or feet first for a clean entry or a rip; a crooked entry is a splash or a belly flop.
Chain clean entries for a combo, and keep diving higher until three bad landings end the run.

Tips
Let go early: a stretched diver keeps turning slowly, so release a little before you are vertical and let the drift finish the job.
A short tap in the air is a small nudge to the spin, handy when you opened up too soon and are falling short of straight.
Go for one fewer flip than you could make: there is no rip without time to stretch out, and a clean entry keeps your combo alive.
Aim the take-off for the middle of the buoys: the bullseye is worth 100 points and leaves room for error on both sides.
On boat spots, watch which way the boat is heading and dive once it has passed the buoys, not while it is coming in.

About Cliff Flip
Cliff Flip is a free cliff diving game you can play online, right in your browser. Your diver stands on the edge of a sandstone cliff above a turquoise sea at sunset. One tap sends them flying, holding down tucks them into a tight ball that spins fast, and letting go stretches them out so the spin slows down. The goal of every dive is the same as in real high diving: count your flips in the air and hit the water dead straight, head first or feet first, for a clean rip entry with barely a splash. Get the angle wrong and it is a belly flop or a back slap.
Each dive starts with the power arrow. It pulses from a short, steep hop to a long, flat leap, and the moment you tap decides where you land. The deep water is marked by a ring of red and white buoys: tap too early and you come down on the rocks at the foot of the cliff, too late and you sail onto the coral reef beyond. Then the dive itself takes over. Hold to tuck and watch the big flip counter beside your diver tick up as it happens, half a flip at a time, then let go a moment before you are upright or upside down, because a stretched body still turns a little on the way down. Enter the water still tucked and it is a cannonball, not a rip.
Every dive is a little harder than the last. The spots climb from a 9 metre ledge to 30 metre towers, and they change as you go: bouncy springboards, a plank swinging from a timber crane, kicker ramps that throw you into a faster spin, back dives where your diver faces the cliff and every flip is a back flip, and boats that motor across the pool just when you want to land there. The power arrow speeds up and the ring of buoys gets narrower, so the take-off becomes a timing challenge of its own.
Scoring rewards ambition. More flips are worth much more: a plain dive is 50 points, one and a half flips 300, three flips 1,050. A rip multiplies the dive by one and a half, a clean entry keeps it, and a splash halves it. Land in the middle of the buoys for a bullseye bonus, and chain clean entries for a combo multiplier that climbs all the way to triple points. A belly flop, the rocks, the reef or a boat costs one of your three lives. Endless mode keeps the dives coming until the lives are gone, and a 90-second version of the same cliffs is one of the games The Daily can deal you. Every run is verified by replaying your inputs, so the leaderboards are fair.
Cliff Flip is a true one button game: tap or hold anywhere on a phone or tablet, use the left mouse button, or press and hold Space, Enter or the arrow keys on a keyboard (P pauses). It plays just as well on mobile as on PC, with nothing to install, like all of our free online games with no download. If you like it, try our other sports games, one-button games, timing games and jumping games; a run takes a few minutes, which also makes it one of our quick games and a good fit for our keyboard games on a laptop.

Cliff Flip FAQ
How do I get a rip entry?
Enter the water within about 11 degrees of straight, head first or feet first, with your diver fully stretched out. Let go of the tuck a moment before you are vertical, because the body keeps turning slowly once it opens up.
How is the score calculated?
Each dive scores its flips (50 points for half a flip, 150 for one, 300 for one and a half, rising faster for each extra half), times 1.5 for a rip or 0.5 for a splash, plus 100 for a bullseye, all multiplied by your combo of clean entries in a row, up to triple points.
What costs a life?
A belly flop or back slap (hitting the water more than about 45 degrees off straight), landing short on the rocks, landing long on the reef, or landing on a boat. You have three lives.
How long does a game last?
Endless runs until your third bad landing, usually a few minutes as the spots get higher and the timing tighter.
Can I play Cliff Flip on my phone?
Yes. It is made for one thumb: tap to take off, hold to tuck and lift your finger to stretch out. On a computer you can use the mouse button or Space, Enter and the arrow keys.
