How to play Ramp Rider

  1. Your rider pedals along on their own; every ramp throws the bike into the air.

  2. In the air, hold LEAN BACK (or ←) to backflip and LEAN FWD (or →) to frontflip; a flip counts once you have turned almost all the way round, and the spin stops soon after you let go.

  3. Hold SUPERMAN (A, or X) for a superman and TAILWHIP (B, or C) for tailwhips; the longer you hold them, the more they score.

  4. Let go of the trick in time: the superman takes a moment to come back and a tailwhip always finishes its turn. Just late is a sketchy save; too late is a crash.

  5. Level the bike with the landing slope: the mark on the ground shows where you will land and turns green when you line up. Up to 10° off is PERFECT, up to 28° clean, up to 48° sketchy, more is a crash.

  6. Land tricks one after another to grow your chain multiplier up to ×8; between ramps hold LEAN BACK (or ←) for a manual to keep it alive.

  7. Pedal hard before sprint gaps marked PEDAL HARD: hold LEAN FWD on the ground (or ↑). You have three lives: ride as far as you can before the last one goes.

Tips

  1. Start a flip the moment you leave the lip: the top of the jump is where you have the most time, and a rider upside down near the ground lands on their head.

  2. Watch the mark on the ground as you come down and let go of the lean a little before the bike lines up: the spin carries on for a moment, and a green mark at touchdown earns a PERFECT bonus.

  3. Mix kinds of tricks in one jump (a flip plus a superman plus a tailwhip): each extra kind adds a quarter to the jump before your chain multiplies it.

  4. Let go of the superman when LET GO flashes, and never start a tailwhip you cannot finish: a trick still out on touchdown is a crash (just late, it is a sketchy save that breaks your chain).

  5. Keep the chain alive between ramps with a manual (hold LEAN BACK on the flat: the bike balances on its own), and let go before the next ramp.

About Ramp Rider

Ramp Rider is a free BMX stunt game you play in your browser, set in a sunny dirt-jump park. Your rider pedals down an endless line of plywood kickers, tables, gaps over rocky pits, steel rails and towering mega ramps, and every ramp throws you into the air. Up there the game is yours: lean back for a backflip, hold a trick button for a superman, whip the frame round with a tailwhip, and grind the rails. Then put the trick away in time and level the bike with the landing, because a crooked landing, a trick still out or a rider upside down ends in a wipeout. It is a bike trick game with real physics, a real BMX under a real rider, and nothing to download.

Every jump is a little decision. A short table only leaves time for a quick superman; a gap gives you room for a backflip if you commit early; a mega ramp hangs you in the air long enough for a double flip and a tailwhip on top. A landing guide on the ground shows where you will touch down and turns green when the bike lines up with the slope. Tricks score more the longer you hold them and the more kinds you mix in one jump, a clean landing banks the points, and a perfect landing (bike flush with the slope) adds a bonus. Land a trick cleanly and your chain grows: every jump after it is worth ×2, ×3, up to ×8, until you crash, land sketchy or ride too long without a trick. Manuals on the ground score too and keep the chain alive between ramps.

The track never ends and never repeats: it is built ahead of you from a mix of pieces that gets bigger and faster the further you go. The first sections are gentle tables and drops, then come gaps, rails, step-ups, mega ramps, doubles and sprint gaps that only clear if you pedal hard. A landing helper keeps an untouched bike level in the early sections and fades away later, so the deeper you ride the more every landing is yours to stick. Every ramp's landing is shaped for the jump it belongs to, so a clean rider can always make it.

You ride Endless: three lives, no clock, and your run lasts as long as you can keep the rubber side down. Trick Attack, a 90-second score attack where crashes only cost you time, is one of the games The Daily can deal you, and it puts Ramp Rider among our quick games too. Your best run goes on the all-time and weekly leaderboards, and top runs are verified by replaying your inputs on our servers, so every score on the board was really ridden.

On a phone, hold it sideways or upright and use the big buttons: LEAN BACK and LEAN FWD under your left thumb, SUPERMAN and TAILWHIP under your right, and you can lean and hold a trick at the same time. Pedalling is automatic; on the ground hold LEAN FWD to pedal hard and LEAN BACK for a manual. On a computer use the arrow keys to lean (and ↑ to pedal hard, ↓ to brake), X for the superman, C for the tailwhip and P to pause. Ramp Rider sits with our sports games, physics games and endless runner games, plays well with the keyboard, and works on mobile and PC alike.

Ramp Rider FAQ

  • How long does a game of Ramp Rider last?

There is no clock: a run lasts until you lose your three lives, usually a few minutes, and a careful rider can go much longer.

  • How is the score calculated?

Each landed jump scores its airtime, flips, superman, tailwhips and grind, plus a quarter more for each extra kind of trick, then ×5/4 for a perfect landing or ×½ for a sketchy one, and finally your chain multiplier (×1 to ×8) for clean trick landings in a row. Manuals on the ground add a little too.

  • Can I play Ramp Rider on my phone?

Yes. Hold your phone sideways or upright: four big buttons let you lean with one thumb and hold a trick with the other, and pedalling is automatic. On a computer the arrow keys and X and C do the same.

  • Why did I crash when my wheels touched the ground?

A landing crashes if the bike is more than 48° off the slope, if a superman or tailwhip is still well out, or if you hit too hard (overshooting onto flat ground). The mark on the ground turns red when the bike would crash: level the bike and put your tricks away before you touch down.

  • What are sprint gaps?

From the fourth section on, some pits are too wide to clear at cruising speed. They are marked PEDAL HARD with arrows on the run-up: hold ↑ (or LEAN FWD on the ground) until you reach the ramp. Holding LEAN FWD over the lip will not start a frontflip; let go and press it again in the air to lean forward.
