About BMX Games

BMX, short for bicycle motocross, began with kids racing small bikes round dirt tracks and grew into one of the great stunt sports: riders launch off ramps and dirt jumps and fill the air with flips, supermans and tailwhips before they come down. BMX games keep the part everyone watches, the trick in the air, and the part every rider knows: nothing counts unless you land it.

Ramp Rider is our BMX stunt game, set in a sunny dirt-jump park. Your rider pedals down an endless line of plywood kickers, tables, gaps over rocky pits, steel rails and towering mega ramps. In the air, lean back for a backflip or forward for a frontflip, hold a button for a superman or a tailwhip, and grind the rails; then put the trick away and level the bike with the landing slope, because a crooked landing or a trick still out is a wipeout. Tricks score more the longer you hold them and the more kinds you mix in one jump, a perfect landing adds a bonus, and clean landings in a row grow a chain multiplier up to ×8, while manuals keep the chain alive between ramps. The track never repeats and gets bigger and faster the further you ride, with sprint gaps you only clear by pedalling hard.

Ramp Rider is free in your browser with no download. Endless gives you three lives and no clock, and the 90-second Trick Attack plays in the Daily. On a phone, four big buttons put LEAN BACK and LEAN FWD under one thumb and SUPERMAN and TAILWHIP under the other; on a computer, the arrow keys lean, X is the superman and C the tailwhip. For more rides, see the endless runner games, physics games and sports games; for flips off a cliff instead of a ramp, try the diving games.

Frequently asked questions

  • What does BMX stand for?

Bicycle motocross. It started as racing on small bikes round dirt tracks and grew into freestyle riding, where the tricks in the air matter as much as speed.

  • Why did I crash when my wheels touched the ground?

In Ramp Rider a landing crashes if the bike is more than 48 degrees off the slope, if a superman or tailwhip is still out, or if you hit too hard. Level the bike and put your tricks away before you touch down.

  • How does the chain multiplier work?

Every clean trick landing grows your chain, and each jump after it is worth ×2, ×3 and so on up to ×8. A crash, a sketchy landing or riding too long without a trick resets it, and manuals on the ground keep it alive between ramps.

  • Can I play BMX games on my phone?

Yes. Hold your phone sideways or upright: four big buttons let you lean with one thumb and hold a trick with the other, and pedalling is automatic. On a computer the arrow keys and X and C do the same.
