About the Darkroom leaderboard

Count seconds in your head and pull each photo out of the developer at exactly the right moment. Five prints a day, and everyone's pull times to beat.

This board ranks every signed-in player’s best verified score in Darkroom of all time. Each player is listed once, with their best run: a better run replaces it, a worse one leaves it where it is.

How a run goes

  • Check your time against the target and how many of today's printers you beat, then tap for the next print.
  • After five prints, look over your contact sheet and share it.

How to climb the board

  • Count in a steady rhythm that takes about a second per number, such as "one-Mississippi, two-Mississippi", and start the very moment the paper hits the developer.
  • The wall clock runs fast. If you follow its second hand you will pull early, so look away from it and keep your own count.
  • The radio's beat is close to one per second but never exactly. Counting along with the song drags you early on a fast song and late on a slow one.

Periods, ties and checks

All-time keeps each player’s best since the board opened. This week starts again every Monday at midnight New York time. Today starts again every midnight New York time, with one ranked attempt a day.

Equal scores share a place, and the run finished first is listed first.

A run records only your inputs. Our server plays them again with the same game code, and only a score the replay matches is verified.

The board lists every player, guests under their generated name. Sign in with Google or Apple from a result to keep your scores and pick your own name. Bots, scripts and other automated or assisted play are not allowed (see our terms of use).
