About Games Like Block Blast and Tetris

Block Blast and Tetris are both about fitting shapes into a space before it fills up. In Tetris the pieces fall and you rotate them into rows; in Block Blast nothing falls: you drag the pieces you are dealt onto a board and clear full rows and columns. What people love in both is the same feeling, a board that is almost full and the one piece that saves it, and a run that lasts until you finally run out of room.

We have three games built on that feeling, each on a different side of it. Block Fit plays almost exactly like Block Blast, Pack It keeps the shape-fitting but adds real physics, and Stackfall keeps the dropping block and the race against a shrinking space. They are our own games: Gamefinity is not affiliated with Block Blast or Tetris, and none of these is a version of either. All three play free in a browser on a phone or a computer, with no download.

Our block puzzles, from closest to furthest

Block Fit is the closest match to Block Blast: a 10×10 board, three pieces at a time in the tray, and every full row or full column clears. You crack gem blocks and chain combos as you clear, and it plays endless until no piece in the tray fits, with a two-minute Timed mode for a quick round.

Pack It keeps the Tetris instinct of fitting odd shapes into a space without gaps, but the shapes are books, a lamp, a cat and a grand piano, and they fall into the moving box under real physics, so they tip, slide and settle on their own. Box after box, each on its own clock, or four boxes on one clock in the daily Moving day.

Stackfall keeps the falling block. A slab slides over the top of a 3D tower and one tap drops it; whatever hangs over the edge is sliced off, so every sloppy drop leaves a smaller slab, and perfect drops grow it back.

How these differ

None of our games has falling tetrominoes that you rotate into lines; if that is exactly what you want, these are a change of pace rather than a substitute. Block Fit is the one to try first if you play Block Blast, and Pack It if you like the planning side of Tetris more than the speed. For more grid puzzles see our games like 2048 and puzzle games.
