About the Wordlock leaderboard

An unlimited 5-letter word game: guess hidden words from green and gold clues with no guess limit. Every word you solve adds time to the clock; play until it runs out.

This board ranks every signed-in player’s best verified score in Wordlock this week. Each player is listed once, with their best run: a better run replaces it, a worse one leaves it where it is.

How a run scores

  • Solve in as few guesses as you can: a word is worth 400 points on the first guess and 50 less for each extra guess, never below 50.
  • Every solved word adds time to the clock: 20 seconds for the first, a second less for each word after, never under 5.
  • Solve words within six guesses to raise your streak multiplier up to ×3. When the clock runs out, the word you were on is revealed.

How to climb the board

  • Do not wait for the perfect guess: the clock never stops, the speed bonus fades over 30 seconds, and any word that fits the clues keeps you moving.
  • Bank time early. The first words add up to 20 seconds each, so quick solves at the start build a cushion for the harder words later, when each solve adds less.
  • Guard your streak: the six small squares under the streak show how many guesses can still grow it. With one left, pick the most likely word, not a probe.

Periods, ties and checks

All-time keeps each player’s best since the board opened. This week starts again every Monday at midnight New York time.

Equal scores share a place, and the run finished first is listed first.

A run records only your inputs. Our server plays them again with the same game code, and only a score the replay matches is verified. A person also checks the top 10 scores.

The board lists every player, guests under their generated name. Sign in with Google or Apple from a result to keep your scores and pick your own name. Bots, scripts and other automated or assisted play are not allowed (see our terms of use).
