About Archery Games
Archery is one of the oldest sports there is, and target archery is the version everyone knows from the Olympic Games: a round face of gold, red, blue, black and white rings at the end of a range, scored from 1 for the outer white to 10 for the gold. The challenge is calm more than strength. The arrow drops on its way to the target, the wind pushes it sideways, and good archers learn to aim off and release at the still moment of a breath. Archery games put that range on a screen, where every shot takes a few seconds and the next round is always waiting.
Arrow Ace is our archery game, seen through your bow's sight on a sunny target range. Press and hold to draw and the view zooms in, drag to put the sight where you want it, keep still while the sway settles, and let go. Every round of three arrows moves the target further back, from 20 metres out to 90, changes the face and raises the wind, shown by a flag and a gauge in miles per hour; later the target slides along a rail and you have to lead it. Your arrows stay in the face for the whole round, so the first one shows you how far to correct the next. Each arrow scores ten points per ring, up to 100 for the gold ten, an X, the inner ten, earns a bonus, tens in a row build a streak, and a rival archer on the scorecard gives every round a total to beat. Endless has three lives and a minimum score that climbs as the range grows, and a ninety-second version is one of the games The Daily can deal.
Archery games on Gamefinity are free in your browser with no download. On a phone, press anywhere, drag to aim and lift your finger to shoot: the sight moves less than your finger, so your thumb never covers the target. On a computer, use the mouse, or hold Space and steer the sight with the arrow keys, which also puts Arrow Ace among our keyboard games. For more games of a steady hand, see the aim games and the golf games; the sports games page has the rest.
Frequently asked questions
How is target archery scored?
The face has ten rings: 1 and 2 in the white, 3 and 4 in the black, 5 and 6 in the blue, 7 and 8 in the red and 9 and 10 in the gold. Arrow Ace scores ten points per ring, so the gold ten is worth 100, and an X, the inner ten, adds 20 more.
Why does my arrow land low or to the side?
Arrows drop on the way to the target and the wind pushes them sideways, and both grow with distance. Aim higher for far targets and into the wind shown by the flag and the gauge.
What is an X in archery?
The small inner ring of the ten. It scores ten like the rest of the gold ten, and in competitions the count of Xs often breaks a tie. In Arrow Ace it adds a 20-point bonus.
Can I play archery games on my phone?
Yes. In Arrow Ace you press anywhere to draw, drag to aim and lift your finger to shoot, and the sight moves less than your finger, so you can aim precisely. It also plays with a mouse or the keyboard on a computer.
